OUR
RESEARCH
GROUPS

The Ipazia UPO-CAAD Center hosts a wide range of research groups working across diverse areas of human health and biomedical science.

OUR AIM

CAAD is composed of three areas: clinics, with the outpatients’ departments of Rheumatology and Allergology; research, with laboratories and associated services; and technology facilities, equipped with state-of-arts instrumentations, to support research and innovation.

Furthermore, Ipazia houses the UPO-BioBank for the management of patient’s samples and associated clinical data.

Current fields of activity include:

  • Autoimmune and inflammatory diseases
  • Cancer biology and tumor microenvironment
  • Host–microbiota interactions and barrier function
  • Cellular stress responses, death mechanisms, and metabolism
  • Advanced omics and computational biology
  • Innovative biomedical technologies and tissue engineering

This multidisciplinary approach fosters collaboration and supports the development of new insights, diagnostics, and therapeutic strategies.
