Data Analysis
Data Analysis
The Data Analysis Core Facility offers advanced technical support for the analysis of bioinformatics data, starting from the experimental planning to the finalization of the scientific task.
In particular, this facility handles raw and processed data coming from NGS platforms with standard pipelines but can also develop custom bioinformatics analyses.
SCIENTIFIC SUPERVISOR
Prof. Davide Corà
INSTRUMENTS
The facility is supported by a set of dedicated UNIX-based computing and storage servers, collectively providing nearly 512 GB GB of RAM, more than 72 CPU cores, and approximately 100 TB of storage. The university’s IT services offer continuous support for the configuration, maintenance, and security of the computing infrastructure, with particular attention to data safety and security.
MAIN SOFTWARES AVAILABLE
- Standard bioinformatics open-access software and pipelines.
- QIAGEN IPA software.
The Facility Offers
- Analysis of bulk RNA-Seq data upon to the DEGs identification and functional annotation, including the study of splicing variants and gene isoforms.
- Analysis of bulk miRNA-Seq, circRNA-Seq.
- Analysis of bulk epigenomics data (Chip-Seq, ATAC-Seq).
- Analysis of Single-Cell RNA-Seq data.
- Analysis of shotgun metagenomics data including de novo reconstruction and reference-based method.
- Analysis of metatranscriptomics data including de novo reconstruction and reference-based method.
- Analysis of Whole Genome and Whole Exome sequencing (WGS, WES).
- Different types of functional annotation analysis.
- Support in the experimental planning of NGS experiment, analysis of data and biological interpretation.
- Development of custom, second-level analyses. Our facility can design and carry out custom analytical workflows for specific tasks, whether they involve NGS data or other data types. We also offer support in drafting the relevant sections of scientific manuscripts, all the way through to final publication.
